Getting started
- Adding a book. Press Add a book. You can scan its barcode, type an ISBN, photograph the cover, or type the details in yourself. Nothing is added to your shelves until you press Place on shelf.
- Arranging your shelves. Press and hold a book for a moment, then drag it. A quick swipe scrolls the page instead, so your shelves are not disturbed by accident.
- Piles and covers. Open a book and choose Lay flat to start a pile, or Show the cover to turn it face-out.
- Decorating. Press Objects, pick something up, then tap the shelf where it should stand.
Common questions
- A book's details are wrong or missing. Catalogue records vary between editions. Every field can be edited by hand on the book's card, and you can photograph the real cover and use that instead.
- The cover shown is not my edition. Reprints reuse catalogue records. When you add a book you can choose between the covers that were found, and your own photograph is always an option.
- Does the app work offline? Yes. Add books, move things and write notes with no connection; everything syncs when you are back online.
- Why does it ask for the camera? Only to scan a barcode or photograph a book. You can add every book by hand instead, and the app works without camera access.
- Why does the Atlas ask for my location? Only if you press Use where I am, to start your reading journey from your own city. You can pick a city from a list instead.
- I did not get the verification email. Check the spam folder, then press Send a new link on the verification screen. A fresh link can be sent once a minute.
- I forgot my password. Press Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and a reset link is emailed to you.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Delete account, or from the email-verification screen if you never confirmed your address. Full instructions are on the Delete your account page.
Privacy
Your library is private to your account. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The privacy policy explains exactly what is stored and why, and the terms of use set out the agreement.
